Animal print

Da budemo iskreni, ja ne volim animal print (životinjski uzorak!?).

(Ali ga smatram interesantnim. Samo ponekad. I na pravi način.)

Nisam sigurna da mi je trebala ova haljina u ormaru, ali volim raznolike stvari (Imam u sličnom uzorku baletanke, a mogu se videti u priči o crnoj haljini.) pa je i ona tu.

To be honest, I don't like animal print.

(But I find it interesting, sometimes, and in a right way.)

I'm not sure I needed this dress in my closet, but I like different things (I have ballerinas in a similar sample, they can be seen in the story about black dress.) so it is there.

Sa druga strane, moje mišljenje o ovakvoj vrsti uzorka je da pojedini komadi garderobe sa animal printom mogu dobro da izgledaju, da treba znati to izneti, da možda više pristaje ozbiljnijim, možda i starijim osobama, da daje neku dozu prefinjenosti ako se dobro uklopi, ali da može vrlo jeftino da izgleda ako se pretera. 

On the other hand, my opinion on this type of sample is that some pieces of animal-print wardrobe can look good, that it might be more suitable for serious people, perhaps older people, that gives a dose of overfill if it fits well, but it can look very cheap if it's overdressed.

Ovaj materijal je moja najveća optička zabluda. 

Naime, uopšte nisam primetila ni kad sam razmišljala da li da ga kupim, ni kad sam ga kupila, a ni kad je godinama stajao kod mene u zalihama i ni kad sam iskrojila ovu haljinu, da je ovo baš upečatljiv animal print. Tek kad sam probala haljinu, sam to uočila. Čudno, znam.

This fabric is my biggest optical fallacy.

Namely, I didn't even notice when I was thinking about buying it, nor even when I bought it, and when it was in my stocks for years and nor even when I cut this dress, that this is a very visible animal print. Only then when I put on the dress for the first time, I saw that. Strange, I know.

Naime, kvalitet materijala je besprekoran. Crna boja definitivno nikad nije bila moja boja i ja sam prvobitno šila haljinu za nekog drugog. Znala sam da ta osoba voli ove boje i htela sam da joj poklonim haljinu, Međutim, skoro na kraju šivenja haljine, rečeno mi je da to nema šanse da bude dobar poklon pa je haljina stajala skoro dve godine tako nedovršena. Malo više truda je trebalo da je prepravim jer je prvobitno haljina bila broj ili čak dva veća od mog broja, ali krajem prošle godine sam je završila.

Nisam našla vremena da je slikam tada pa je tek sada priča o njoj na blogu. 

Specifically, the quality of the fabric is unprecedented. Black color has definitely never been my color, and I originally sewed a dress for someone else. I knew that this person liked these colors and I wanted to give her a dress. However, almost at the end of the sewing, I realized that there was no chance this dress would be a good present, so the dress was standing unfinished for almost two years. Much more effort was needed to fix it because the original dress was a number or even two larger than my size, but at the end of last year, I finished it.

I didn't find time to take the photos then, so now is time for the story about it on the blog.

Kroj je iz Burda magazina, izdanje 11/2012, model 122.

Moja haljina je bez rukava, a sve ostalo je isto kao kod originalnog kroja.

Kao što sam već napisala, haljina je bila iskrojena u većem broju pa sam je ja prilagodila sebi. Ja sam zadovoljna koliko je to dobro ispalo, s obzirom da je izreze oko rukava u tom slučaju teško uraditi, a da ne budu preveliki.

My dress is sleeveless, and everything else is the same as in the original pattern.

As I was already writing, the dress had been cuted in a bigger size and I adjusted it only. I am happy with how good this looks since the cuts around the sleeves, in this case, are difficult to make well without being too big. 

Doumila sam se da li uopšte da slikam i pišem o haljini, ali meni se haljina sviđa (I uspela sam da se uvučem u nju.) i zbog toga je tu. Nisam sigurna koliko mi u ovom trenutku dobro stoji, ali trenutno ovako zgledam.

I wondered if I should write about this dress at all, but I like the dress (and I managed to get in it) and that's why it is here. I'm not sure how good the dress fits me at this point, but I am currently looking how I look.
