Vikend u Barseloni/Weekend in Barcelona

Konačno da sednem, izaberem slike i napišem koju reč i o ovom putovanju.
Finally, I have time to pick some pictures and write a few words about this trip.

Barselona...
Barcelona...
Namely, on our return from Prague, we decided (my husband, I and our best friends) to go this year once more somewhere on a weekend trip. Somewhere, it meant one of the European cities (We are lovers of Europe).
Last year, my husband's travel wish was Barcelona (My wish was Potro, and we were there in the first half of last year, and the common desire is Mount Tara, which I hope to visit soon. We have much more desires, but we can`t do it all at once.) but due to all the circumstances, we were not able to compromise the trip, so one of the proposals for this trip was Barcelona (next to Budapest and some smaller towns).
The plan was September or October, and in the end, we were all aligned for the second half of October. Considering the weather and temperature for that period, Barcelona as the next destination has won.
We booked a hotel for a couple of months ago, as well as airline tickets (We were flying in the last week of Air Berlin flights, which was questionable until the flight.). We decided for 3 nights instead of two, ie a little longer weekend.

Barcelona is the capital of the Spanish province of Catalonia and the capital of trade and industry in Spain, as well as one of the largest ports in the Mediterranean Sea. The city has a population of 1.6 million, and the city's urban area extends beyond the city limits to an area of about 803 km² and has over 4.7 inhabitants, making it the sixth largest metropolis in Europe.
Barcelona is today an important cultural center and one of the leading tourist destinations with a rich cultural heritage. Barcelona, after Paris, London and Rome, is the fourth largest city in Europe and, with 5 million tourists annually, the most popular tourist destination in Spain.

On Friday two weeks ago in the early afternoon, we flew to Barcelona. On that day, we walked around the city and decided to dine the best paella according to Marco Polo guide. The restaurant is called 7 Portes, we waited 45 minutes on the table because we didn`t have a reservation, but the restaurant is for every compliment. Paella was excellent.

In Prague, we didn`t have the need, but we decided in Barcelona for a city bus tour (Hop-On, Hop-Off) and bought a ticket for the weekend. A great way to see more, but at the same time you can get out where you want and so the whole day (We have done it in Porto last year, which I recommend, and for Barcelona also. The weekend ticket cost 39 € per person. In you will get a booklet with a description of the sights you can visit, city map with bus routes, as well as headphones, 15 languages are offered for listening to the stories about city sights.)

Sačekali smo autobus u ulici Passeig de Gràcia.
We were waiting for a bus on Passeig de Gràcia Street.

Across the road, we saw Casa Milà, better known as La Pedrera, one of Gaudi's impressive buildings constructed between 1906 and 1910. This building can be visited, on the last floor is located an exhibition about Gaudí.

Malo dalje, preko puta La Pedrere, nalazi se još jedno od Gaudijevih remek-dela, Casa Batlló.
A little further, across La Pedrera, is another of Gaudi's masterpieces, Casa Batlló.

During our stay, we visited two landmarks of Barcelona, Sagrada Familia, and Park Güell.
We went to the park on Sunday. Entrance to the park is free, but for the part where are sculptures and works of Gaudí cost the entrance 8 € per person.
I had the desire to see this landmark, the park is beautiful and somewhat unreal, as well as other Gaudi's works.

Park Güell is a public park system composed of gardens and architectonic elements located on Carmel Hill, in BarcelonaCatalonia (Spain).
The park was built between 1900 and 1914 and was officially opened as a public park in 1926. In 1984, UNESCO declared the park a World Heritage Site under "Works of Antoni Gaudí"
The park was originally part of a commercially unsuccessful housing site, the idea of Count Eusebi Güell, after whom the park was named.

Gaudí House-Museum located within the Park Güell was the residence of Antoni Gaudí for almost 20 years, from 1906 till the end of 1925. On 28 September 1963, it was opened as a historic home museum and nowadays houses a collection of furniture and objects designed by the architect.

Torre Glòries, poznat kao Torre Agbar
The Torre Glòries, formerly known as Torre Agbar

The most recognizable landmark of Barcelona is the Sagrada Familia, which is also the largest, most popular and still unfinished Gaudí's work.
Fortunately, we had earlier inquired and found out that it is best to set a time for a church visit in advance on the Internet (It is best to do for all the sights you would like to see in Barcelona because there are crowds everywhere.) So we managed to get on Monday term to enter and see the interior of the church. The ticket with audio guide costs about 30 €.
The church leaves breathless, although its construction has started more than 100 years ago, architecture and ideas are still far ahead of the time.

Sagrada Familia is a Romane Catholic basilica made in Gothic style. The church began building an architect Francesc de Paula del Villar so that in 1882 the project would take over and completely changed Gaudi.
Gaudi worked on this project for 40 years, of which the last 15 years exclusively on it. He died in 1926 but work on the church has continued to this day.

A evo i nas, za kraj.
And here we are, for the end.

I hope you liked the photos (I didn`t take many photos because I had a problem with my neck for the whole weekend, so I had a hard time).

Do sledećeg čitanja
Until next reading
